Final Thoughts on the Atomic Structure and Radioactivity Unit

Today, we took our Atomic Structure and Radioactivity test, marking the end of the unit. On the test, there were a wide variety of different questions, but I was expecting more questions on the different contributions by Dalton, Thomson and Rutherford on the Atomic model. The hardest part of the test for me were the half life questions that required me to do a lot of math. I had forgotten some of the formulas, but overall I think I did pretty well on this test.

Also, the end of the unit means that our Star Log project is due. This project was much easier than the Frontier Chemistry Project, and took a lot less time to complete. I primarily used only three websites to gather all of my information, so the process was a lot of repetition of visiting the same sites over and over again. I learned a lot about different stars, and I also was intrigued by the different classes of stars and how their class related to their size and color.

Websites that helped me on my project:

  1. Those websites seem very helpful Kyle. I found a couple websites myself, but they only contained information about one type of thing we required for each star. And yes, the math was pretty hard. There was this one question which got me worried as the answer I got did not match with the options. But in the end, I picked the closest answer.

  2. I too like the websites you included that helped you on your project, but I really enjo9yed your reflection on the test. I also had a hard time with calculations during the test, and like Varun said, I also had an answer that didn't exactly match the answers so I picked the closest one. Overall, I was fairly pleased with how the test turned out .

  3. The websites you attached to this post were very helpful when completing this project. I too used these exact links which helped to make the project much easier than the Frontier Chemistry one because you could find all the information between just a few websites. I agree with your view on the test and especially on your point that you thought there would be more questions about the scientists.
