Sunflower (Helianthus annus)

Found in both Eastern Deciduous Forest and Tall Grass Prairie

Uses:

  • Malaria (flower tea)
  • High fevers (leaf tea)
  • Snakebites and spiderbites (poultice of flowers and leaves)
  • Diuretic (seeds and leaves or tea of the stem pith)
  • Diarrhea (leaves astringent)
